Actresses take in the Mist
8/6/15
On August 6, Mayor Byron Brown announced that a new feature film âTwo for Oneâ would be filmed in Buffalo. The movie tells the story of a man who loses his two best friends in the tragic events of 9/11, and accepts the role of guardian for the coupleâs two children. The film is set in 2012, eleven years after 9/11. Financial problems force this ânontraditional familyâ out of New York City and to Buffalo, where he grew up.
Two of the stars of the film, âTwo For One,â filmed in Niagara Falls and Buffalo in August 2015, Erika Christenson and Mickey Sumner, took a break from filming to experience the Maid of the Mist.
Christenson tweeted, âWent to Niagara Falls and got so happy. Thank you for a great day @maidofthemistâ
Sumner and her family are no strangers to the spotlight. Sumner began acting in short films in 2006, and is best known for her feature work as Katia on the AMC Network series Low Winter Sun. Her father, Gordan Matthew Thomas Sumner, better known as âSting,â was the lead singer, songwriter, and bassist for The Police from 1977 to 1983, before launching his extremely successful solo career.
After two weeks of filming, âTwo for Oneâ wrapped their shooting in Buffalo. The film features Niagara Falls State Park and a number of other locations throughout Western New York.
