Iconic Maid of the Mist keeps sailing on

Niagara Gazette- There was a time not so long ago when questions arose about the future of the iconic Maid of the Mist vessels on the lower Niagara River near Niagara Falls.

Today, the tour boats continue to set sail, albeit from a new docking facility built on the American side of the Niagara River Gorge.

Kevin Keenan, a spokesman for the Maid of the Mist, said 2015 was another successful season for the tour boat operator, which took thousands of visitors on rides at the base of the Falls while entertaining its share of celebrities in the process.

“This has been another highly successful season for the Mist of the Mist,” Keenan said of the tour operator’s 130th consecutive season. “We’ve seen tremendous crowds, especially during the holiday weekends.” Read More.
