Maid of the Mist staff hear man’s cries for help

NIAGARA FALLS, ON. (WKBW) – Parks Police on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls had to rescue a man early Tuesday morning who was in the gorge.

Officers were called around 6 a.m. by NYS Parks Police. Staff from the Maid of the Mist on the American side of the gorge heard the man’s cries for help and alerted authorities.

The man was located a short time later with a sleeping bag. Police believe he may have fallen from the gorge wall.

He was pulled from the gorge around 8:30 a.m. by the fire department and taken to the hospital. His injuries are unknown, but he was conscious and speaking with emergency personnel.

The incident remains under investigation.
